Begin in Sydney, where the familiar frame of the Sydney Harbour Bridge greets you overlooking iconic sails of Sydney Opera House. After a night to shake off the jetlag, enjoy a walking tour of the historic Rocks district, and a guided tour of Sydney Opera House. Your tour also takes you to some of the city’s essential sights including Darling Harbour, Bondi Beach, and its upscale waterside suburbs. Of course, the best way to experience Sydney is on the harbour itself. With a hop-on, hop-off cruise ticket in hand, you can do just that, with two days to explore Luna Park, Watsons Bay, Manly, Fort Denison, Shark Island, Darling Harbour, and the famous Taronga Zoo, to which your entry ticket is included. You’ll have a full day at leisure to pick up the sights you missed before flying to Cairns.
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the world’s great natural treasures that must be seen to be believed. Your Quicksilver cruise to the outer reef gives you the opportunity to snorkel, dive (extra cost), ride a semi-submersible sub, watch fish feeding, or even take a helicopter ride over the reef (extra cost). Suffice to say, it’s an unforgettable day, but it’s not the only thing to see or do from Cairns. You’ll also enjoy a day in Kuranda, riding the scenic railway and skyway, and explore the wetlands at Hartley’s. You’ll even spend some time immersed in Aboriginal culture, learning how to throw a boomerang and seeing a traditional Pamagirri dance.
